ABOUT DEJA BELLE

Deja Belle is a Congolese-American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. Her name means “one who is already beautiful” in French. Born to Congolese parents in France, and later raised in the Washington metropolitan area, her music is a fusion of contemporary R&B, soul and afrobeat influences.

Deja Belle began pursuing a career in music shortly after she graduated from Howard University and landed a 9 to 5 job, which was unfulfilling. Since then, she has penned chart-topping, award-winning hip hop soul music and has collaborated with many local independent artists.

In 2014, she and longtime collaborator Matty the Chef co-wrote a song for Independent Recording artist Nia Simmons. “Used to You” received international critical acclaim and was on the UK soul charts peaking at #11. Deja Belle has also shared the stage with legendary R&B acts including Dionne Warwick, The Manhattans, The Whispers, and Meli’sa Morgan. In 2015, she began singing background vocals for Regina Belle and later went on a sold-out tour with her in South Africa.

In April 2019, Deja Belle self-released her debut album “U.N.I.,” gaining critical acclaim in the U.K. and earning a No. 1 album on the U.K. Soul Connoisseurs Top 20 Chart.
